Roots run deep in Glen Ellyn. Let's grow something together.
Grounded in Glen Ellyn brings neighbors together - around Lake Ellyn, downtown at the train platform, on the blocks we all actually live on - to build a community that shows up for itself.
JOIN USOur Mission
We bring Glen Ellyn neighbors together through local events and everyday action that strengthens the community we all share.
Our Vision
A Glen Ellyn where neighbors know each other, show up for each other, and take an active hand in the place they call home.
How We Show Up
We serve.
Practical, welcoming events built around what Glen Ellyn actually needs - not what looks good on a flyer. Show up, help out, meet a neighbor.
We inform.
Local government, schools, taxes, what's actually happening around town - explained clearly, without spin, so neighbors can make sense of the place they live.
We invite.
An open door, not a lecture. A real reason to get involved, and the resources to actually do it.
Who's Behind This
Stefanie Hood
Stefanie is a Glen Ellyn attorney, bilingual in English and Spanish, with a law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago and years of practice behind her - including work as a certified privacy professional. She's spent much of that time outside the office too, volunteering with organizations like the Junior League of Chicago's Advocacy Council. She started Grounded in Glen Ellyn because she'd rather build community in the town she actually lives in than just talk about it.
